St. Lucia is a Caribbean island nation located in the eastern Caribbean Sea. It is known for its beautiful sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, and lush rainforests. If you're planning a trip to St. Lucia, one of the best ways to experience the island is by staying in an Airbnb. In this article, we'll provide an overview of St. Lucia and the Airbnb options available on the island.
St. Lucia is a small island nation with a population of just over 180,000 people. The official language is English, but the majority of the population speaks a French-based Creole. The island is home to a number of natural wonders, including the Pitons, two massive mountains that rise out of the sea. St. Lucia is also home to a number of beautiful sandy beaches, including Reduit Beach, Vigie Beach, and Anse Chastanet Beach. If you're planning a trip to St. Lucia, there are a number of Airbnb options available to suit your budget and needs. One of the most popular options is a villa or vacation rental. These rentals are typically large, spacious homes with multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas. Many of these rentals come with their own private pools and are located in gated communities. These rentals are perfect for families or groups of friends traveling together. Another popular option is a guesthouse or bed and breakfast. These rentals are typically smaller, more intimate properties that are run by a local host. Many of these properties offer a more personalized experience and may include amenities such as breakfast or evening meals. These rentals are perfect for travelers who want to get to know their host and learn more about the local culture. If you're looking for something more affordable, there are also a number of private rooms available on Airbnb. These rentals are typically located in a private home and offer a shared space such as a bathroom or kitchen. Private rooms are a good option for solo travelers or couples who are looking to save money on their trip. One thing to keep in mind when booking an Airbnb in St. Lucia is that the island is quite hilly and mountainous. This means that many rentals may be located on a hill or in a mountainous area, which can be a challenge if you have mobility issues. It's a good idea to carefully read the property descriptions and reviews to ensure that the rental is suitable for your needs. Overall, St. Lucia is a beautiful island with a number of Airbnb options to suit any budget or need. Whether you're looking for a luxurious villa, a cozy guesthouse, or a budget-friendly private room, there's an Airbnb rental for you in St. Lucia. Janus, we just bid farewell to Jamil and we wanted to let you know what a delightful day we had with him. He is very courteous and a likable young man and we had a beautiful opportunity to experience your island and to see many sites along the way. We enjoyed all of the time that he spent with us and look forward to recommending your tours to friends in the future. Thanks again for all of your help and your prompt responses to my emails and questions. Have a lovely day. The Brodskys and Wolkowitz’s Better than a Saint Lucia Hotel or Resort? "What a lovely island it has been to get married and relax." Highlights of our stay have been the numerous waterfalls close by, Diamond, Toraille, Superman and the hot baths at Piton Falls. The Sulphur Springs are well worth a visit, so is the Tet Paul Nature Trail which has great views without the exertion of climbing the pitons. For food Orlando’s Restaurant is superb. We were looking for somewhere to eat for our wedding that would cater for our vegan diet. Emailed Orlando and he couldn’t be more accommodating. As for this Villa it’s great. Its clear Janus is proud of his place and rightly so. The pool has been wonderful and there is so much to see close by. We will definitely be telling our friends out this Gem of a villa Sargas! Katie & Matt,
After going through customs at UVF, we met up with Steve who drove us to Sapphire Apt. He was very polite and informative about the area. Once we saw how windy the roads were, we were very happy we weren’t driving (FL has very straight roads). Steve was obviously very comfortable and safe with his driving. We arrived in the late afternoon so we rested a bit before heading to Ruby’s for dinner. We were a little bummed that the Pizzaria was out of Pizza but they have other options and everything was yummy and affordable. The next day we walked into town to try to find Chester, the diver master at Hummingbird, we didn’t find him but spoke to a guy who works with him. Called him for us. We arranged to dive the next day at 9:00am. Next, we got a water taxi over to Anse Chastanet. It was a short trip on a tiny boat (imagine a row boat with an oversized motor). When/if you hire a water-taxi make sure you understand the price ahead of time, we had a misunderstanding about EC $ vs US$ and we ended up paying more than we wanted to. Also, be aware that the closer you get to the waterfront, the more panhandlers/pedders will come to you. As soon as you get about a block inland you will not be bothered. The snorkeling at Anse Chastanet was incredible. Just off the beach too! We snorkeled in both the marine protected area that is roped off and off the beach. Both were full of life and crystal-clear water. We had lunch on the beach and felt very welcomed even though we weren’t staying at the resort. We had appetizers b/c the entres were a little pricey for us ($20US for a burger) It was delicious and plenty of food for us. On Monday, we went diving with Chester which was great. We did 2 dives and paid US$110 per dive ($60 per person or U.S $110 for 2 people) which included gear. Again, we were on a small boat but the dive sites were only about 15 minutes way so it was no problem. The dives were 60ft and well worth it! We saw so may fish, coral, sponges, craps, shrimps etc. We even saw a sea turtle and a sea horse and Chester let is spear lionfish (lionfish are invasive and detrimental to the reef) The dives we did was called Fairyland (near Anse Chastanet) and Superman’s fight (at the base of the Pitons). If you are certified you should definitely go out with Chester. He was a great dive master/guide and the dives were the best of my life. After diving we had lunch at skippers which was a lunch buffet. We noticed lots of locals so we figured it must be good. There were tons of local dishes and they loaded up one plate. We ended up sharing one meal and it was plenty for us. On Tuesday, we arranged with Janus to have a driver take us to some of the touristy spots. Fabian met us at the apartment and drove us to Morne Coubaril estate for Ziplining, then the drive in Volcano, mud baths, Torille waterfall. We paid $70US for the driver which doesn’t include entry to the attractions. Again, it was well worth the money! Fabian was very polite & punctual, ziplining was great, volcano tour was good, the mud baths was very crowded. It would probably be better to go very early in the morning or later in the evening. The Torille waterfall was great and refreshingly cool. We were lucky and had the place to ourselves for a few minutes before the tour groups showed up. After the waterfall Fabian took us to the volcano to the restaurant for Lunch. It was similar to Skippers but you choose your meat and then they added all the side dishes. It was delicious and I had to bring half of it back. Today we head to Fond Doux Plantation for the ‘’Fancy’’ Part of our Honeymoon. We are a little sad to be leaving Sapphire Apts! Once again, we asked to have someone pick us up at Fedo’s (local spot for lunch) and Janus was super accommodating. We had a wonderful stay! Some Tips: Walking into town is about 15-20 minutes. The walk back up is steep but we didn’t mind. We just made sure to only do it once a day. Already mentioned, but get a price in USD & ECD for any tours/water taxi ask ahead of time, if you don’t they won’t tell you a price (better yet ask Janus to arrange it for you) We had an amazing time here! Thank you, Janus for your hospitality and for sharing your St Lucia villa with us. It was the perfect place for our Honeymoon. Hope this is helpful and that everyone has just as wonderful a time as we did!! Love Laura & Jony Selecting a St. Lucia taxi service is a part of the travel experience that many people put far too little thought into. Given that the island’s taxis aren’t metered, a simple St. Lucia airport transfer can end up costing a traveler big bucks if they simply walk outside the airport after clearing customs and jump in the first taxi they see. Instead, it is important to do some research in order to find the taxi in St. Lucia that offers the service and prices they are looking for.
Travelers come with different itineraries, different budgets, and different goals when they arrive at the St. Lucia airports. Whether they are arriving at George F.L. Charles airport off a local flight or have flown internationally to Hewanorra International Airport, there are definitely many taxis waiting to take them to their destination. With a little effort, however, they can find a company that offers the perfect vehicles at the best rates regardless of budget. A company like St. Lucia Airport Shuttle provides every traveler with a VIP travel experience, giving them private transfers and cheaper prices than the competition while also offering the safest, most luxurious, and most reliable transportation on the island. With St. Lucia Airport Shuttle, getting to all of the island’s many resorts, hotels, and rental villas is a breeze. Better still, by booking with them in advance, travelers can ensure that there is a taxi waiting outside the airport when they land or when they clear customs so that they don’t have to wait around before embarking on the next leg of their journey. For travelers seeking the best airport transfers and taxi service on the island, St. Lucia Airport Shuttle offers everything they need! |
